Updates to MRCP(UK) Regulations

As part of the ongoing process of review, there are several updates which have been made to the MRCP(UK) Regulations.

Updates to the MRCP(UK) Regulations are as follows -

‘No ID, no entry’ rules:

  • MRCP(UK) is aware that some countries have started to use electronic ID documents. Our examination delivery partners have been informed about this and these will be accepted as proof of a candidate's identity during checks. This must be presented using the relevant platform from the issuing government; photographs of physical documents (e.g. passports or driving licenses) will not be accepted.

Online examination rules:

  • Candidates are no longer required to destroy their notes on camera at the end of the examination. Remember that examination questions are the copyright of the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK and should not be copied.
  • If you are sitting the remote online examination from the same venue as another candidate (e.g. you share a house with them), please inform MRCP(UK) about this ahead of sitting and ensure that you are not sitting the examination in the same room.
  • Room scans will be conducted at the start and end of the examination. The proctor may also ask candidates to complete a room scan during the examination, so please ensure that you do not have anything not permitted on your desk (e.g. your phone).
