How to enrol

Enrolling with us

It is compulsory for all resident doctors entering Internal Medicine Training and Higher Specialist Training to enrol, in order to access the training tools we provide. This includes the ePortfolio, curriculum and assessment methods.

Resident doctors will be contacted by email with an invitation and information on how to enrol through our Online Enrolment System.  For resident doctors who have recently been appointed to training posts in round 1 of 2026 National Recruitment, you should receive an invitation to enrol with JRCPTB by 20 July 2026.  Any resident doctors who have not received an email by Monday 20 July 2026 should email the JRCPTB at Enrolments@thefederation.uk and attach a copy of their ORIEL acceptance confirmation, training contract or letter of appointment.

Within the enrolment form you will be asked how you wish to pay your training fees, for more information please see fees and membership. The application form will require you to fill in data detailed in your appointment letter/Form R so please have this to hand.

Once you have enrolled, the initial training programme information will be added to your ePortfolio account within 5 working days. Please note: you will be able to add posts commensurate with your programme start date as soon as your programme has been set up but you cannot complete forms, ticket requests or add documents to your personal library until the start date of your programme.

Notice to trainees enrolling a Locum Appointment to Training (LAT)

If you have been appointed to a LAT post and in the future hope to enter a Specialty Training Programme in a medical specialty, you will be invited to enrol via email and provided with a link to the JRCPTB Online Enrolment system. If you haven't received an invitation from JRCPTB to enrol your LAT post, please contact enrolments@thefederation.uk with your training information (Form R, LAT post contract or Trust appointment letter).  An invitation to enrol will then be set up and emailed to you.

Unless we approve your post, training undertaken during the tenure of a LAT cannot count towards a CCT. If you are appointed to a second or subsequent LAT you must re-enrol.

Further information about LAT credit is available here.
