The Management and Policy Board took this decision following analysis of the statistics relating to re-mark requests, which showed that no candidates have had their marks changed through this process in the past five years.
This process was designed for the pencil and paper format of the examinations. The move to remote online and in-centre computer-based delivery formats ensures that all answers entered by candidates are recorded.
MRCP(UK) is confident in the methodology used to process results. All results communicated to candidates are entirely accurate and these will not change, therefore it is unnecessary for candidates to request re-marks.
Candidates can still submit appeals if they believe their performance was adversely affected by a procedural irregularity in the delivery of the examination or exceptional circumstances. Further information about this is available on the MRCP(UK) website.
