Post-nominals will no longer be linked to passing MRCP(UK) and completion of UK training.
The Federation of the Royal Colleges of the UK is pleased to announce a change to the regulations governing use of the post-nominal awarded to successful candidates in the Specialty Certificate and European Specialty Examinations.
After consultation with specialist societies and UEMS sections who are our partners in delivering the SCEs, it has been agreed that the post-nominals will no longer be linked to passing MRCP(UK) and completion of UK training. From this year, all successful candidates will be entitled to use the new post-nominal ‘SCE (Specialty)’ or ‘ESE (Specialty)’ if they have taken the pan-European examination in Gastroenterology or Nephrology.
