The Associate Medical Director for Assessment Quality is a key role within the Federation clinical leadership team.
Working with the Medical Director for Assessment and the Associate Medical Directors for Clinical and Written Examinations, they will be responsible for the academic scrutiny of the MRCP(UK) Part 1 and Part 2 Written Examinations and the 11 Specialty Certificate and European Specialty Examinations. They will provide leadership in discussing statistical data outputs from examination and will lead induction and on-going training of examining board members.
They will support chairs of examining boards to ensure that the academic objectives for the examinations are being achieved and that the standards set by the General Medical Council are being met. They will chair the newly established Assessment Quality Management Group and oversee new processes for signing off and analysing written examination results. They will provide support and guidance to the Assessment Data Analytics team to produce high quality examination reports and assist board members to interpret examination performance metrics.
