We’re pleased to share that applications for the EFIM Exchange Programme 2026 are now open. This initiative offers Internal Medicine residents an excellent opportunity to gain valuable international experience and broaden their clinical exposure.
Programme highlights:
- Each national society may nominate one candidate for consideration.
- The EFIM Executive Committee and FDIME will select the top 10 applicants, each of whom will receive a €1,000 bursary funded by EFIM and FDIME.
- Additional applicants are encouraged to participate with support from their national societies.
Key information:
- Application deadline: 22 February 2026
- Eligibility: Internal Medicine trainees in their third to fifth/sixth year

We encourage eligible trainees to apply and make the most of this opportunity to develop their skills and experience within the wider European Internal Medicine community.
Applications should be submitted to Dr Mike Jones (mike.jones@thefederation.uk) and Dr David Marshall (david.marshall@thefederation.uk) by Thursday, 12 February. They will then review and submit the chosen application to EFIM by Friday, 20 February.
