Working with the International Medical Director for PACES and other Federation officers and staff, each Associate International Medical Director will be responsible for a specific geographical area with a high degree of flexibility to support each other and the International Medical Director for PACES. The successful applicants will have a key role in working with Federation’s clinical and administrative staff to ensure that the examinations are delivered to meet the required standards.
Each appointee will be a Fellow of one of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, with a current licence to practise. The role will require frequent attendance at a variety of meetings within the UK, which are delivered on a hybrid basis, and occasional international travel. The balance of in-person versus virtual attendance will be up to the successful candidate to decide in consultation with the International Medical Director.
These are non-salaried positions, though all reasonable expenses and travel costs will be met by the Federation in line with the Federation expenses policy -
The post is offered on an initial three-year term. Subject to satisfactory performance, as agreed by the EMD, CEO and Federation Board Chair, the post may be offered for a second term of up to three years by mutual agreement. A two-term appointment is the maximum term that can be served.
