This document summarises the support and mitigations put in place for doctors affected by the 2023 MRCP(UK) Part 2 examination issue.

We are aware that a small number of candidates may not be able to sit the online versions of the MRCP(UK) Part 1 and 2 Written examinations.

Candidates can now access all their MRCP(UK) results letters for Part 1, Part 2 Written and PACES, and their SCE results letters, within their MyMRCP(UK) account.

We are introducing changes to the policy on the maximum number of attempts candidates can take at each part of the diploma (Part 1/Part 2 Written/PACES): Candidates who are applying to sit Part 1 for the first time from the 1 January 2022, will be allowed a maximum of six attempts at each part of MRCP(UK).

The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK is seeking to appoint a new Chair of the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Written Examining Board.

The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK is focussed on restarting all assessments; MRCP(UK) Parts 1 & 2, PACES and Specialty Certificate Examinations, in September as currently scheduled.
