As part of the process of reviewing the policies and procedures governing its examinations, MRCP(UK) will introduce the use of the second camera function for candidates sitting a Remote Online Proctored (ROP) examination (MRCP(UK) Part 1 or Part 2 Written, or a Specialty Certificate Examination). This will not apply to candidates sitting the examination in a centre.

The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK has commissioned an independent external review into the problems underlying the September 2023 Part 2 examination. Professor John McLachlan will conduct the review. We have involved the resident doctor committees of the three colleges in the commissioning of the review.

The resident doctor committees of the three royal colleges of physicians have written to the statutory education bodies (SEBs), appealing their decision not to allow those affected by the MRCP(UK) part 2 examination 2023/03 diet issue to progress into higher specialty training from the recent recruitment round.

We are very sorry to announce we have identified that, due to a data processing issue, incorrect examination results were communicated to a group of candidates in the UK and internationally who took the Part 2 Written examination in September 2023.
